| 1 | You can join the Shoebury & Thorpe Bay u3a, using one of the following methods:
1.1 Online Membership Application, this involves the completion of our 'on-line Membership Application form' which can be found, using the link on our 'Home Page', titled 'Join the S&TB u3a'. Please read the 'More information', and our 'Terms & Conditions' first. 1.2 Membership Appication form, please email the Membership Secretary, to request a Membership Application form, which you then complete and return with your payment as shown on the form. 1.3 Members' Monthly Meeting(1), please email the Membership Secretary, to request a Membership Application form, which you then complete and bring along to one of our monthly Members' Meeting (see Home Page for details) with your payment, by Cheque OR Cash and and 'join' the S&TB u3a; 1.4 Members' Monthly Meeting (2). | 2 | Membership of the S&TB u3a, is on an Annual basis (1 January to 31 December) and your Membership should be renewed by 31 January, so you can still enjoy attending Groups and associated meetings. Membership provides members, the opportunity to join one or more 'Interest Groups', provided that there are vacancies. See 'How to join a Group below for more information. | |

| 3 | Membership of the S&TB u3a, is 'Annual' and our 'Membership Year' is '1 January' to '31 December' and your Membership renewal payment should be received by 31 January (though preferably by 31 December), to avoid your Membership being suspended and eventually cancelled. 2.2 Your renewal payment can be made 'On-line payment' OR 'In-Branch payment' OR 'Cheque' to the 'Membership Secretary' or at a Members meeting OR Cash at a Members meeting; 2.3 The 'On-line payment transaction' must include a reference, which should be 'Your Membership No and Surname', to enable your Membership record to be updated and a receipt issued. Please add your 'Membership No and Surname to the back of your cheque and envelope front. | When someone becomes a member of the S&TB u3a, they are issued with a Membership Number and Password, which are used to log into our website. They are both very useful, in fact important pieces of information that should be keep safe while you are a member. If you forget your password, then you can request a new Password, see 'Forgotten your Password?' below | ||

| Upon joining the S&TB u3a, a member is issued with a Membership Number and a Password, by email. If you forget your Password, you can request a New password, by going to The Shoebury & Thorpe Bay u3a website, then click 'Information', then click 'Forgotten Password', then enter 'Your email address' and your 'Membership Number' and click 'Submit'. You will be emailed a New Password. | ||

Should you want to change your issued Password, then go to the Shoebury & Thorpe Bay u3a website, Log in, then click 'Personal', then click 'Change Password', then enter 'your current password', then enter 'your new password', then enter 'your new password' again and click 'OK'. | ||

| Once you have joined the S&TB u3a, you can apply to join one or more groups, provided that there are vacancies OR the Group Leader is prepared to increase the Group size. It is probably easier to first 1) Go to the Horizontal menu bar, then 2) click 'Activities' which will then display a list of 'live' Interest Groups', sorted by 'type'. Use the links at the top of the page to see the same information sorted by 'Meeting day' OR 'Meeting venue' OR 'Groups with vacancies'. | ||
